Rat's is truly a memorable dining experience! Amazingly unique decor and impeccably flawless professional service make this place the one of the "best kept secrets" in NJ. The cuisine was delicious and fairly priced for the high quality. Steamed mussels, onion soups, cheese platter all outstanding. The short rib of beef and bone- NY strip steaks excellent. The cod was a bit overcooked but the celery root pave amazing. The side of charred broccolini is a must try. The deconstructed lemon pie, creme brulee, ice cream stuffed profiteroles and carrot cake sublime. The wine list is second to none worthy of kudos. I highly recommend Rat's for a special night out.

I came here for my niece's birthday brunch. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming. Starting from the host, to the manager and our waiter Nick. Nick our waiter went above and beyond. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Nick made our visit memorable. Thanks!

We have been coming here for well over 10 years. Today we were absolutely disappointed by the experience. The food was subpar-nothing special--no flare and no special flavors. We were told that they had run out of the eggplant caponata (on the trio platter appetizer), so they would simply add more hummus. That would have been fine if not for the fact it was literally a plate of hummus for -$31...and no effort to make it look presentable. The chicken salad was dry and bland. Most of the mussels were undercooked and closed. We were served a piece of carrot cake that looked like someone threw to the side -it was small and in pieces for..... $17. We brought this to the attention of the manager who simply said: yes, that's how it is served. Ok, dude. Maybe that works in your milk-toast world, but we have always expected and received better from Rats. We don't mind spending good money on good food--and we don't mind spending good money on a special atmosphere. Unfortunately, Rats no longer lives up its former expectations.

We enjoyed this place! 4th time we have dinner here and never disappointed! Everyone is very attentive and knowledgeable. Food is prepared with better ingredients, fresh and upscale dinning, portions are generous and we had to take home some of it. We had the bone in NY steak, juicy and flavorful came served with potatoes cooked on duct fat, very good flavor, Cod was flaky and tasty, short ribs tangy and delicious, half chicken roasted with a carrot sauce chicken was juicy and full of flavor, we shared a cheese platter appetizer very original and tasty Star fruit jam, couple flavorful types of cheeses. We highly recommend the Rat’s restaurant. No wonder is our 4th time dinning here!

Beautiful spot nestled within the Grounds for Sculpture. The decor is charming, the staff is friendly and incredibly helpful and the food is better than 99% of New Jersey restaurants. Do not skip the popover and garlic compound butter to start your meal off right - it's included and not to be missed! After dessert, be sure to take a stroll around the gardens - see the waterfall and walk off your meal & share a kiss on the Monet bridge in the moonlight...it's a perfect way to end an unforgettable date night!
